Primary Accountabilities:
• Supervise and manage specific regional construction projects (new
sites and renovations)
o Track and report progress of assigned projects to Director.
o Ensure stores are built to work letter and Construction Department
specifications.
o Identify potential deficiencies in construction documents to
ensure content of information on drawings are complete for bidding
and construction.
o Identify potential financial and scheduling solutions on a project
per project basis.
o Liaison between field, internal support departments, vendors, GC,
landlord and required municipalities.
o Final walk through of construction project to ensure 100%
completion and quality.
• Bid assigned projects to selected GC.
• Manage owner supplied items and schedule delivery with vendor and
selected GC
• Review bids with Director of Construction for best "value" and
award project to selected GC.
• Review, approve and track project construction costs for assigned
projects; track budgets for projects.
• Review all site specific issues and address with internal and
external departments as required.
• Gather and provide information to A & D department on how
specified products and materials affect project schedules and
budgets.
• Monitor project status via photo review and frequent on site
visits. Assess timing and quality of execution for renovations and
build-outs.
• Manage to $----M budget for fiscal 2004
• Coordination of department tracking schedule and A & D updates.
Required Skills:
• 4+ years of experience in a construction management role with a
multi-location retailer including experience handling Architecture &
Design issues.
• Previous experience managing a construction budget on a project
basis. Financial and analytical strength.
• Demonstrated ability to influence internal and external business
partners.
• Demonstrated ability to balance multiple construction projects
effectively and to deadline.
• Strong communication skills including the ability to communicate
effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to direct projects autonomously and make effective and
timely decisions with conviction.
• Degreed: preference would be Architecture/Design or related field.
