This would create the world's largest non-airline computerized reservation system. Nick Bredimus, the president of AMR Travel Services Inc., an AMR subsidiary, said the system would be called Confirm and would begin operating in 1991. The system will be owned by the four partners, said Russell Harrison, the president of AMR Information Services Inc., another AMR unit.
The AMR Corporation, the parent of American Airlines Inc., will join the Marriott Corporation, the Hilton Hotels Corporation and the Budget Rent-a-Car Corporation to create the world's largest non-airline computerized reservation system.
