De opdracht is een scène in de miniatuurwereld uit te kiezen en deze scène in werkelijkheid te fotograferen. Het prijzenpakket bestaat uit maar liefst 14 prijzen en een totale waarde van ruim € 2500. De hoofdprijs is een digitale (D60) reflexcamera van Nikon t.w.v. € 849,- euro! Op de Kijfhoek stonden vandaag maar 2 Spurtstellen (gespot vanaf de bok van tr. 2122), ipv 4. Toen ik om 10.37 op Asd aankwam, zag ik op een van de sporen aan de IJ-zijde een elektrische Spurt staan, betrof stel nummer 502. Op de diverse lijsten niets gezien, en ook op Somda niet.

Torrington Station Railway Gala
Saturday & Sunday, 26th and 27th July 2008
10.00am to 6.00pm

A celebration of railways to include live steam model railway, other model
railway displays, new and second-hand books and magazines, DVDs and videos,
including the newly released Branch Line DVD of the Torrington branch.  It
is also hoped that local author, Rod Garner, will be signing his brand new
book on the Bideford, Westward Ho! & Appledore Railway, and there are likely
to be a few other surprises.

Further up the line at Bideford, work continues to reopen the station site
despite the development threat that is hanging over the scheme.  It is
hoped that a revised planning application from the developer will mean
that train operations can continue, and the station building may become
available to Bideford Railway Heritage Centre - a much rosier picture than
a few months ago.

A 2-disc DVD set of the entire series of "Along These Lines" will be
available from Monday 30th June 2008.  Priced at £19.95 (inc postage &
packing), the DVD will feature all eight episodes from the series.  The
running time is approximately 180 mins.

Documentary series looking at the untold stories of British scientific
innovations.  Peter Snow traces the history of the UK's experimental
tilting trains of the 1970s and 80s.  The Advanced Passenger Trains were
intended to rival France's TGV and Japan's bullet train, but negative
press and complaints about motion sickness helped scupper the project
before it could get going.

Lymington Branch celebrations...  On Saturday 12th July, the plan is to
operate a class 73 with 1498 (3-Cig) on the Lymington branch all day.  On
Sunday 13th July, it should be class 73 + 1497 all day.  (Subject to
failures and last minute obstacles, of course)

Upon hearing that anyone trying to photograph Past Time Rail's "Settle and
Carlisle Flyer" after it returned to Kings Cross on 24th May was
confronted by security staff, Richard Boyd decided that "something had to
be done about it".  He has therefore created a petition to Number 10, and
invites anyoen who agrees to add their signature and  pass on details to
anyone else who might be sympathetic.  Any petition that attracts more
