The word Lapido has its origins in the Acholi language of Northern Uganda: it means an ‘advocate’, but also carries the thought of revealing the true worth of something precious, like a gemstone. It reflects the values we aspire to in helping the church to tell a truer story about God's work in the world, and to speak up where suffering is ignored or Christian truth misrepresented.
