WaAlaikumusSalam, Sister Haneefah,
AlHamdulillah, it's nice to meet you! May Allah give you success in
your efforts.
In terms of choosing a work-at-home business, you can choose from any
of the options I have listed in the "Links" section (some are free,
some require a fee to get set up). If you have a product, you can even
use some of the options (like SBI!) to actually help you promote your
business.
One sure way to tell fraud is when money is requested before you even
know what you're getting into. There are some Websites set up to give
you an elaborate song and dance, even testimonials, without giving you
any real details about what you'll expect to gain.
Another way is when they make extravagant promises. Building a
business is not a "get-rich-quick" thing, and anyone that promises
money within a short period of time with minimal effort--any money at
all--is probably after your money and doesn't care what happens to you
after they get it.
Those are just a couple pointers or hints. Ask more questions, I'm
sure others could tell you of some specific examples of what to avoid
as well.
