I have been posting a series of articles on my blog on new and emerging trends
in computing and communications technologies with a focus on how this is
impacting on us all as individuals and communities – there are 15 postings in
this series so far and you can find the directory for this at:

I am particularly interested in any feedback that members of this group might
add as comments to these postings as some of the basic issues I touch upon are
becoming increasingly important, and both from the perspective of creating and
sharing information, and for issues of privacy and protection of personal
information.
I also post on:
• Social networking and the interactive web and other 2.0 oriented interactive
online options (e.g. blogging, Twitter and IM, RSS and multimedia feeds, Wikis
etc).
• Working with startups - I have a lot of experience with startups and early
stage companies and I share best practices information for setting up or working
with these businesses.
• And I have been running a series on job search best practices as I know so
many people who are looking – this currently has 22 parts posted so far with
best practices info on options like video resumes and negotiations included.

I understand something of what you are going through as I have worked as a

A lot of this is on Web 2.0 and other interactive online resources, and on how
to use them effectively in businesses. I have also been posting a series on
social networking and job search, in which I systematically share what I have
learned and found to work over the years.
I have just posted part 16 in this series, these postings collectively covering
everything from self-assessment and targeting your search, through researching
specific job opportunities, applying for them and interviewing, and negotiating
compensation. I do this in the context of building a career and that means
doing the things to help reduce the chance of being caught unprepared by
downsizings and layoffs.
I have been sharing this on my blog to try to pay back at least in part for the
value I have received from networking and if you could use this type of
informational resource I invite you to use it and to share word of it with
friends and colleagues.
