I bet Bob Clay or would've given enough money to not only save them but to
cosmetically restore them also.

Are there still ashes left in the fireboxes??? I would have thought that after
the last fire was dumped there wouldn't be any.
As with any fund raising activity, you've got to run a profit/loss analysis on
everything. Sometimes it's more profitable to just stand in front of the
grocery store asking for donations than it is to acquire merchandise/ produce a
product/sell said product.
But the sad part is that it's going to take a LOT of money. More than can be
raised from just fund raising and solicitation. What you need is...a friend.
With deep pockets. With a last name like...Claytor.
Wouldn't that be nice.....!!!

GidDay All! I was wondering if anyone had maybe thought about bottling the close
to 100 year old sinders from the fire boxes and sell them in tall clear jars
like those from Spaghetti? Sounds stupid but you would be surprised at what
people would buy. Like maybe a history buff or teacher or railfan. Also what
about taking all the different pictures of the engines and going to someplace
like Cafe press and making T-shirts or Coffee mugs and selling them at rail
related meets? Maybe even the N&W HS would help with N&W steam photos?
