Morning,
I have used a Warn winch from tractor supply for the last few years with
good success.
They now sell a winch that has 1700lb capacity, mine is only 1000lb. I have
it mounted to a landscape trailer with a 12 volt battery.

Harbor Freight has some cheap winches. I've used this one ($60) for other
things with pretty good luck. http://www.harborfr

Are there other trees around big enough you could rig up some kind of drag
line to help get them across the creek?

I am looking at pulling some small logs (<12") out of the woods. Many are
across a small creek and need a winch to get them out. I am thinking of
installing an electric winch on the front brush bumper or on a three point
boom on my Ford 3000. I know the electrical system is a bit weak for this
but that can be worked around. I am looking for suggestions for a winch and
where to get it.
