Hello every one, A NEW DAY IS DAWNING

This is to bring you up to date with the organization. I know that it
has been hard for us trying to stay afloat, but good news. We are
being supported by Dr. Jackson. The conference that we sponsored for
the African American History Month, with Dr. Grant as the speaker,
was well attended. Dr. Jackson's office sponsored the food for us and
also had the fliers supplied. He will back us with our programs. We
need adminstrative backing, and he has the authority.

I am the minority nurse at the Minority Faculty meetings. One of the
doctors that does research here at UH want to come to one of our
meetings. He would like to get minority nurses involved in his
research. I have delayed this due to our attendance factor at the
meetings.

We also have others that would like to speak to us to let the group
know that now we have help to get up and going as a viable forum. Dr.
Jackson is one of the ones who would like to come. He will be the
first that I ask. But I want to meet with the group first and
reorganize our goals.

Please let me know by e-mail or phone if the date and time below will
be OK. I also have to schedule a conferance room. That won't be a
problem as there are multiple rooms available.

I am hopeful that we can stard to put on educational programs for the
hospital. This can be on vital health issues facing the minority
communities, all minority communities. So put your thinking caps on
and come ready to discuss the issues facing out different communities.
(African American, Latino, Native American, Asian etc.)
