Nifty Mantra May 15,2008

The market closed at the day's high today following positive global cues. Sensex shut shop at 16978, up 225 points and Nifty at 5011, up 53 points from the previous close. The CNX Midcaps index was up 1.02% and BSE Smallcaps index was up by 0.44%. The BSE Metals index was up 4.3%, BSE IT index was up 3.8% and BSE Technology index was up 3.19%. The market breadth was positive with advances at 678 against declines of 547 on the NSE. Top Nifty gainers included Dr Reddy's, TCS and Hindalco while losers included ONGC, GAIL and ACC.

NIFTY is looking to test slightly lower levels and 4900 is immediate support. Traders can remain short. Inflation is at about 4 years high, crude oil is at all time high and latest IIP numbers are looking disappointing. With no positive news to give fillip to market sentiment weakness doesn't look like disappearing too fast. Month of May too has never been a good month for equities. So fresh long can be avoided at this juncture and investors can wait for slightly lower levels.

BGR Energy has a short term target of Rs 630, it has resistance at Rs 462. The stock has strong support at Rs 400.

TATA STEEL. is looking strong and the current moment and higher levels are likely to be seen in near term. The stock may test 92-0 level in days to come.

 Reliance is likely to consolidate in coming days. The stock has strong support at 2430 and the stock can test new lower levels, once it breaks 2430 support. Investors are advised not to take fresh positions in the stock until it doesn't break the range in any of direction.
