`All's well that ends well'. Well, that basically was the trading behavior on Monday. Markets opened with a slight negative bias and the none too impressive IIP data accentuated that bias as indices suffered setback. Most of the sectors suffered with the exception of IT. It was IT that pulled the indices from the lows of the day and during the last 60minutes of trade buying spread to other sectors as well. Even the negatively impacted sectors like Capital Goods and Realty also witnessed some buying at lower levels. Finally, Sensex closed almost 140 points higher while Nifty too came back above 5000. Major gainers of the day were Cairns, NFCL, Chambal Fert, Hind Oil, Ranbaxy, Polaris, JSW Steel, Axis Bank and Tata Chem. Losing stocks were Bharat Forge, IOC, BPCL, Grasim, IDFC and India Infoline.

Nifty fell to around 4910 before staging a smart comeback towards the close. Technically, it managed to close above the crucial support level of 4960 and brighten the chances of maintaining at least the trading range of 4950-5250. Above 5045 it could target 5110-5120 in next few sessions while 4950-65 remains a strong support as of now. RPL has taken support just around the 175-77 zone and could rebound further. RIL has some resistance around 2610. Rebound is also likely in capital goods pack. Here stocks like L&T, Punj Lloyd and JP associates could seek higher levels in a stable market. IT pack continues to be in uptrend. Satyam and Wipro might rise further if they trade consistently above 495 and 510 respectively. More upside is also likely in Rcom( 555), REL, HDIL and Renuka Sugar.Immediate support for the Nifty is around 4960 .
