M&StL models was:Re: [mstl] So can anyone vouch for Intermountains artwork?

For anyone who models the M&StL (or, I suppose, one of the adjacent roads)
between 1930 and 1960, the 24000 series single-sheathed box cars are a
"must-have" item.

That said, I can't see me putting together 10 or 12 resin kits. As slowly as I
work I won't live that long.

Clark created a very nice looking 24000 series box car by kit-bashing.
Unfortunately CRS keeps me from remembering what components he used or where his
description is to be found. Is it on Ted Culotta's site?

I have a couple of questions for Clark, the answers to which might interest
others.

1. Which would be easier; your kitbash or the new kit?

2. Which would be cheaper?

Did anyone ever do the CGW box cars in the 91000 and 92000 series with their Pullman proprietary ends? Sorry to mention this on the M&StL list, but the...

Tom, Stan Rydarowicz sell cast resin Pullman ends in 5/4 and 5/5 configurations for both the 40' and 50' cars. I used a Red Caboose 10' IH 37 car for the 91,...

Gene, The 24000s I built were in the volume 1 of the magazine Ted started. Only two issues published to date. Much easier to build the upcoming Sunshine kit....

Clark, Thanks for refreshing my memory about the 24000 series box car article. I have that magazine. Even if Ted Culotta comes out with a 24000 series box car...

Trying to decipher the Naperville flyer... Will the 24000's be available there? Or just being officially 'unveiled'? If I order now directly from Sunshine,...

Oh, how I hate it when Clark makes such good sense. The RR that was being designed and built - very slowly - here in El Paso could have used about 200 freight...
