Welcome Back!

 

I hope everyone had a restful holiday season and a Happy New Year.  NMPRSA is gearing up for another exciting year of new business, new members and recognizing excellence in the profession.

 

We’re getting 2008 started with the annual Cumbre Awards Call for Entries.  Attached are the Call for Entries forms and additional information regarding entry fees, entry categories and the awards banquet.  The forms can also be found on our Web site at www.nmprsa.org.

 

All entries are due by 3 p.m. on Friday, February 15, 2008.  Late entries may be submitted until 3 p.m. on Monday, February 18, for a late fee of $10 per entry. 

 

The 2008 Cumbre Awards will be held on Thursday, April 10, from 5:30-9:00 p.m. at the Los Poblanos Inn & Cultural Center, located at 4803 Rio Grande Blvd NW, ABQ, NM 87107.

 

Also attached to this email, you will find a fantastic resource provided by one of our members, Jim McClure, APR.  It is an article written by two of Jim’s colleagues (one of whom is a Silver Anvil winner) from the Suburban Chicago PRSA Chapter about how to submit an effective awards application.  We hope this resource will provide some helpful tips when completing your Cumbre entries. 

 

This year also marks the 50^th anniversary of the New Mexico Chapter of PRSA.  We hope you join us in celebration throughout 2008 by attending monthly luncheons, social events, networking events and professional development opportunities.
