This group seeks to promote a universal currency that will be used by all countries in exchange for goods and services. The group's objective is to discuss the role of a currency that will ultimately replace all currencies. One that will be used by all countries. A universal currency will ultimately remove artifitial trade barriers created by differences in exchange rates. This will give the chance to poor countries to trade with rich countries without bothering about foreign exchange reserves and currency convertibility.
Rich countries do not have to worry about acceptability of poor counties' currencies in exchange for goods and services. This will go a long way to promote trade. It will lead to an increase in specialisation and thus an increase in international trade due to concentration on goods with comparative advantage.
