The Orthodox Union is proud to announce VJF II(Virtual Job Fair 2)Aug 29th

What is a Virtual Job Fair?
The procedure at a live job fair is that candidates go from table to
table and drop off their resumes with prospective employers. If time
allows, they will give you a quick interview and perhaps a follow -up
appointment.
The OU's innovative and simple approach differs from that approach.
From the moment resumes are posted by the candidates the process
begins. The OU in reality goes to each of the employers dropping off
resumes making a true match for the job that is being offered. In this
way, employers who want to see a candidate in a scheduled interview
setting have already had a chance to reviewed each resume, experience
and qualifications, prior to setting up the interview. We do the leg
work, you get the candidate!
What is Live-Video Broadcast-How does it work-What is required?
As a first anywhere that we know of, the OU's last Job Fair was done
via Live Video Conferencing. This highly sophisticated method
incorporated an easy link and way to conduct all live video interviews
from the comfort of your own office over a smooth running video
stream. This means you NEVER have to leave your premises/office; you
can continue your daily routine between interviews and do not have to
waste your time traveling and setting up tables for the Fair.
It's simple, fast FREE and it works!
Here is all what you need;
A Broadband connection
E mail account
PC Camera (about $19.99)-Available in most electronic stores, office
supply stores, chain stores throughout the area
Headset with Mic (about $15.99)-Computer and Camera speaks are not
recommended due to sound interference.
That's IT!
Once you have this equipment, you will receive an e mail inviting you
to join into the Fair. The e mail will contain a link. Click on the
link and your in and set up - ready to go. NO HASSLE, NO SOFTWARE
DOWNLOADING, NO WORRIES and most importantly, MOST fire-walls and
security setups will NOT STOP this from going through. Our Technicians
are on call and will help you with any problems
Imagine a Fair that is so easy to attend and yet so productive.
An interview is set up, what then?
Once an interview is set up with the employer, you will receive an
e-mail informing you of the time you are scheduled to meet the
employer for a live video conference interview or a live in - person
interview. The interview usually lasts ten to fifteen minutes. Prior
to the interview, you will be notified which candidate you are
scheduled to see to provide you with the opportunity to review his/her
resume. Interviews are time sensitive and are scheduled in time slots.
Missing a time slot means missing an interview.
How much does your participation cost?
The cost is 100 percent free. The Virtual Job Fair is provided by
the Orthodox Union as a community service and as a way to help you
find a candidate looking for a job. However, as experience indicates,
there are cases in which Employers with confirmed interviews with
available candidates do not show up and thereby cause scheduling havoc
at the fair. Therefore, we have decided to bill $1000.00 to your
credit card WHICH WILL BE IMMEDIATELY RETURNED UPON YOUR APPEARANCE AT
THE FAIR. The actual charge will NOT go on your card prior to the
Fair. However if you do not appear without prior notification, we will
be forced to charge your credit card. If you have to cancel, we
understand. But you are requested to notify us of this cancellation
at least 72 hours prior to the fair. After that we will charge you.
Free for prior participants
How do I sign up?
Simple! Go to http://www.ou.org/jobs/job_bank_reg/employer where you
will see a tab for the August Job Fair. Just hit the tab and follow
the easy instructions

We hope to see you here in late August.

New improvements at this Fair
*Name of each candidate will appear on the resume we pre-send you
*Resume #'s and reference numbers will also appear as last time
*Organized ushers will escort you to your table (if you are here live)
*Organized ushers will introduce each candidate as they are brought to
the Video Conference
*Headsets will provided by the OU (at cost) for the Virtual Attendees
*Sponsorships will be available and published early on

Please contact me with any questions you may have or any issues you
would like to discuss

The Orthodox Union is now accepting registration for the Aug.29 Job Fair

to take place I"H, at OU headquarters.

What is a Virtual Job Fair?

The OU's innovative and simple approach differs from the
conventional "drop off your resumes at employer's tables" method. From
the moment resumes are posted by the candidates the process begins.
The OU in reality goes to each of the employers "tables" dropping off
resumes making a true match for the job that is being offered. In this
way, employers who want to see a candidate, in a scheduled interview
setting, have already had a chance to review each resume, experience
and qualifications, prior to setting up an interview. We do all the
leg work!

An interview is set up, what then?

Once an interview is set up with the employer, you will receive an
e-mail informing you of the time you are scheduled to meet the
employer for a live video conference interview or a live in - person
interview. The interview usually lasts ten to fifteen minutes. The
candidate will receive a full description of the Job-to be posted on
our web site- so they can prepare for the interview. Interviews are
time sensitive and are scheduled in time slots. Missing a time slot
means missing an interview. If you do not get a scheduled interview,
then you should NOT COME to the Job Fair. No one BUT scheduled
interviewees will be allowed in-NO EXCEPTIONS. You will be put on a
priority list for the next job fair coming up

How much does your participation cost?

The cost is 100 percent free. The Virtual Job Fair is provided by
the Orthodox Union as a community service and as a way to help you
find a job.
However, due to past experience of no-shows that disrupted the flow of
the fair, we have decided to request a fully 100% refundable deposit
of $25.00, to set your interview in place. Once you arrive at OU
Headquarters, your CC slip will be returned back to you. This is your
admission slip to your scheduled interview. If you do not show up as
scheduled and did not cancel within 48 hours of the Fair, we will
apply this administrative charge to your CC

How do I sign up?

Simple! Go to http://www.ou.org/jobs where you will see an
application tab for the August 29th Job Fair. Just fill out the
required information.

Please NO PHONE CALLS, we can and will answer all your questions via e
mail.
PLEASE DO NOT ASK US to post your resume, it is practically impossible
to keep up with this demand and if we do post it becomes impossible
for you to edit your résumé.

Also, we have a free service for the first 75 people who want to have
their resume seen by an expert FREE OF CHARGE. This is a first come
first serve no exceptions. So please respond right away.

This Free service is being brought to you by www.MyResumeExperts.com
at 9900 Montana, Suite C-4 El Paso, Texas 79925 Phone (915) 253-2871

We will forward the first 75 resumes to her as soon as we receive
confirmation from you.

We hope to see you here August 29th.

MANHATTAN BOROUGH PRESIDENT STRINGER TO SPONSOR OU VIRTUAL JOB FAIR II,

AUGUST 29, 2007, PRIOR TO JEWISH NEW YEAR
Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer along with Queens
Assemblyman Rory Lancman (25th AD) have lent the prestige of their
offices to attract employers and to publicize the Orthodox Union's
Virtual Job Fair II, for the unemployed and those seeking better
positions.
Virtual Job Fair II will be held on Wednesday, August 29 at OU
Headquarters in Manhattan, free of charge to employment candidates and
employers. It follows the initial Virtual Job Fair held in June, at
which 35 people obtained jobs, 20 on the spot. Mr. Stringer is
currently searching for employers to post their jobs on the OU Job
Board and to participate in the Virtual Job Fair. Employers who have
already signed up include AXA Financial, Ohel Bais Ezra, Jamaica
Hospital, and many more. Sponsors such as IDT, and myresumeexperts.com
lend additional credence and support to VJF II.
On the day of the Fair, job candidates will be interviewed via video
conference with HR personnel in their offices. HR professionals who
prefer to screen applicants in person will come to the OU and conduct
their interviews live.
The OU has scheduled the Fair prior to the High Holy Days to benefit
those who want to obtain employment or better positions before Rosh
Hashanah (September 13 and 14). "There will be no better way to start
the New Year than with a new job," declared Michael Rosner, OU Job
Board Director.
"By forging an alliance with Borough President Stringer and
Assemblyman Lancman, the OU hopes to attract employers who may not be
aware of what we do," declared Mr. Rosner. "The presence and support
of Mr. Stringer and Mr. Lancman will enhance the OU's reputation as a
leading community social service provider in New York City. Mr.
Stringer and Mr. Lancman are sensitive to the needs of the unemployed
and want to help anyway possible. By teaming up with the OU, they
have an outlet to help people get jobs."
Like the first, Virtual Job Fair II combines state-of-the-art
technology with human resources practices to assist the unemployed and
under-employed in the Jewish community in the New York and Tri-State
areas in finding meaningful work. Already, there are more job
candidates and employers signed up for the Fair than for the first one. .
The Virtual Job Fair is a project of the OU's national Job Board,
www.ou.ourg/jobs, on which candidates post their resumes. In order to
ensure that each candidate is a true match for the job being offered,
the OU combs each resume to find experiences and qualifications that
fit employers' needs. The OU shares eligible resumes with employers
who will have the time to carefully review them before the interviews.
"In Judaism, the highest level of tzedakah (charity) is enabling the
recipient to become self-reliant, for example by helping him get a
job. This is the goal of our Job Fair. We are delighted that Mr.
Stringer and Mr. Lancman share our goals," declared Mr. Rosner.
To participate, long-on to www.ou.org/jobs to access the application
tab for the August 29 Job Fair.

For more information contact Mr. Rosner at rosnerm@....

The Orthodox Union-OU-Needs your help + other announcements

As you may already be aware, ever since the Orthodox Union launched
its Job Board program, we have been B"H very successful in obtaining
employment for many people. The Job Board not only serves the needs of
our communities in helping people find work, but it is also a critical
factor in helping these communities grow. We welcome all who may need
our free services to contact me for more information, at the email
address below, or at 212-613-8129.

Having said this, I need your help and your feedback. We are planning
a program to enable seniors and retirees who are seeking employment
either on a full or part-time basis or as a volunteer, to find out
what is available in their communities. The wealth of information
seniors possess should not and cannot be overlooked. The knowledge
they have acquired through the years can be extremely beneficial to
businessmen looking for advice or part-time help; to the yeshivot,
synagogues and Jewish community centers in need of volunteers or P/T
workers; and most importantly, to our seniors themselves, who are
yearning to share their wealth of knowledge and experience with the
younger (and not so younger) generation.

I am looking for employers who want to participate in this program as
well as ideas and innovations from you on bringing it to fruition.

Please contact me at rosnerm@... if you are an employer looking to
fill some of your openings with our seniors or to provide advice on
how to proceed with this initiative. All ideas are welcome. There are
more programs on the way and you will shortly hear from us regarding
them.

I would also like to take this opportunity to remind you about the
upcoming Job Fair II, to be held August 29 at OU Headquarters, 11
Broadway, New York City. It is soon going to be over-sold, so it is
important to act while space is still available. Our next Job Fair
will be held in December in Los Angeles. To learn more or for help in
setting up a Job Fair in your area, contact me.

If you are interested in participating in the Job Fair, please
register NOW by going to www.ou.org/jobs and hitting the registration
tab. The Fair is being sponsored by the Manhattan Borough President, a
Queens Assemblyman, and various high-powered and well-known companies.
Once again, go to our website to learn more about the Fair.

Thank you and Shabbat Shalom.

Tzedakah and Hakorat Hatov- It's not always money

For the past six months a doctor in Los Angeles has forwarded hundreds
of jobs to the OU Job Board without any solicitation or questions
asked. This doctor, who chooses to remain anonymous, has never
requested any accolades, recognition or acclaim of any kind. His work
was done with one thing in mind, to fill open jobs with members of the
Jewish Community and to practice the truest form of Tzedakah.

He will be leaving his position shortly, and even though he
insists on remaining anonymous, the OU and I want to express a deep
sense of Hakorat Hatov and gratitude to him. It is people like him who
make my job as rewarding as it is. May he have very much Hatzlocha in
his future endeavors and continue to be a beacon of light to Klal Yisroel.

If you know of any job(s) please pass them along to me and I will post it.

If you want to sponsor the job board for a Yur Tzait, Simcha,

When ministers of the current Government of Israel have publicly

OU Job Board / ParnossahWorks. What are you waiting for?

Who we are:
A unique job placement service created by the Orthodox Union for the
Jewish community-at-large that brings potential employers and
applicants together, and hones the skills of those seeking employment
and employers seeking to fill their open jobs .

* Now possibly the largest Jewish Job Board in North America.
* Since its March inception, the Job Board has posted close to 6,000
jobs and has resulted in an estimated 500 + job placements through the
applicants direct contact with the employers. An active list of over
1000 companies, organizations and non-profits receive weekly mailing
updates.
* From the outset, a partnership with FEGS (Federation Employment and
Guidance Service) called ParnossahWorks, made a high level of
professional expertise available to job seekers. Over the past 3 years
700+ people have been gainfully employed using OU-ParnossahWorks
system. Additionally hundreds of other jobs requiring this placement
service system are listed for those in the Greater New York area
* In addition to FEGS, the OU Job Board has partnered with the JVS/JFS
(Jewish Vocational/Family Services) in: Baltimore; Bergen
County/Passaic, NJ; Boston; Chicago; Detroit; Los Angeles; Metro West,
NJ; and Toronto, as well as the New York Council of Jewish
Organizations and the Metropolitan Council on Jewish Poverty. All of
these organizations have provided job placement services and/or workshops.
* The OU Job Board is a pioneer in Virtual Job Fairs, in which
employer's interview pre-screened applicants by video conference. Two
recent Job Fairs saw 83 people placed in new jobs, over 1200 resumes
processed, and more than 100 resume re-writes provided.
* The Manhattan and Brooklyn Boro Presidents, the head of the NY
Veterans Affairs, the head recruiter of the Department of Labor and
many others have visited the Job Fairs and complimented them on their
efficiency and high level of success.
* Internal estimates rate the level of success of the Job Board in
getting people jobs directly off the boards at 8-10%. Some 150 active
employers regularly use the OU Job Board to find their new employees.
* Communities in Austin, TX, Harrisburg, PA, Dayton, OH, Scranton, PA
and Bangor, ME have asked for listings in their cities to be
integrated into their web sites, in order to help build and expand
their communities appeal to those looking to move.
* Connections with Sephardic communities and outreach organizations
are expanding.
* In the first month of a parallel Israel OU Job Board, some 200
Israeli companies posted over 500 jobs geared to English speaking
immigrants who live in, or are planning to move to, Israel.
* The OU Job Board has become a mini clearing house for yeshivot and
Day Schools countrywide, posting a wide range of educational and
administrative jobs for them.

Hakorat Hatov + Other announcements- OU Job Board

Last week I posted a need for a kidney. The person had been waiting
close to 2 years with no resolution in sight. In a matter of 24 hours
after the post, I am happy to report that B"H 4 people who matched the
donor came through and volunteered. How great of a Mitzvah is this?
May H"B grant these people much Bracha and Hatzlocha and may the
recipient have a much needed Refuah Shaleymah. Only in Klal Yisroel!

OU JOB FAIR III- Now bigger and better then ever-March 12th

As you may already know, the OU Job Fairs have been extremely successesful in the past and is now so fine tuned in getting the right people the right jobs,  that during the last Virtual Job Fair we hosted, there was a 49.6% hire / Second interview call back rate. Our Job Fairs differ from others in that they are Virtual and start the day you post your resume

The Job Fair is scheduled to take place I"H on March 12th in New York at the Orthodox Union's- OU headquarters - 11 Broadway 14th fl. This is an INVITATION ONLY EVENT. Please read below carefully

Employers:

The Virtual Job Fair works as follows:

Your provide us with your open jobs and a brief description of the job and its requirements

You advise us if this is a salaried job, commission based or both specifying hours travel etc

We post these jobs on our web site under a special Job Fair section, which is highlighted and well placed prior to the Job Fair.

Our applicants apply for these jobs by sending us their resumes which we review to make sure they are responding to the jobs that you are offering. We try our best to make sure you get the resumes corresponding to the job(s) you have opened

Resumes corresponding to your jobs are sent to you for review prior to the show (personal information is withheld). You choose which candidates you are interested in and confirm back to us who you would like to set up an appointment with.

We set up the appointment time for the interview

The actual interview takes place during our Job Fair (where we release all personal information) just prior to the interview

All participation is free. The interview can take place right in your office over the net. There is no software setup. All you need is a high speed connection and a camera and mic. You do NOT have to readjust your firewalls, it just like a conference call except its on screen being broadcast live. Participating employers using their office computers interview the applicants on our computers in our headquarters who are waiting for you at the confirmed pre scheduled time. It's simple and as easy as a conference call. No traveling, setting up tables and long lines of people.

APPLICANTS-PLEASE READ CAREFULLY TO FULLY UNDERSTAND HOW THE JOB FAIR PROCESS WORKS

The Job Fair process is as follows:

  • Applicant registers on-line at www.ou.org/jobs under the Job Fair registration link
  • Registration is completed ONLY after your resume has been posted. (If you do not post your resume you are NOT registered). The title of your resume MUST CONTAIN "WHAT KIND OF JOB" YOU ARE LOOKING FOR. Multiple resumes for multiple jobs can be posted. Please look at the employers job offerings as posted on the Job Fair link
  • Employers jobs and a brief description is posted on our Job Fair web page link for your review
  • Acceptance of your registration DOES NOT MEAN you should come down to the Fair. It only means that your resume is being REVIEWED for possible acceptance and interviews with employers on March 12th at the Fair. Your resume posting DOES NOT guarantee you admittance to the Fair.
  • Once you have registered, the OU Job Board will actually "go to" each participating employer who has the matching jobs YOU are looking for, as stated on your resume title, and hand your resume to the those employer(s) for review. All this is done PRIOR to the actual Job Fair day on March 12th.
  • Should an employer accept your resume, you will receive an e mail invitation, with a specific time, to come down to the Job Fair on March 12th. Please note carefully: If you do NOT receive an e mail invitation for an interview, prior to the March 12th Fair, you SHOULD NOT COME DOWN TO THE JOB FAIR. ONLY THOSE WITH CONFIRMED E MAIL INVITATIONS FOR A CONFIRMED APPOINTMENT, RECEIVED PRIOR TO THE MARCH 12TH JOB FAIR  SHOULD APPEAR AT THE JOB FAIR ON MARCH 12th. The Fair remains CLOSED to everyone else. No exceptions
  • The Job Fair takes place in our offices over our computers or live interviews.
  • Following the above procedures, we assure that the Job Fair in reality turns into a Job Interview day, with all hurdles cleared and the employer looking at you as a serious candidate.

For more information please do not hesitate to e-mail me.

Please join our fair and make this the most successesful ever!!
