THE MAGNETS ONLY NEED TO BE ABLE TO BE CLOSE ENOUGH TO THE CORES TO MAGNETIZE THEM. LONG CORES CAN BE USED AND ARE PREFERRED TO SHORT ONES AS THEY WILL PROVIDE...
