When I first came across this small e-booklet, I was extremely
impressed and I know a bunch of people grabbed it when it was
available before. It's back, and I'm telling you that it's an
excellent summary of the basics of performance management AS IT
SHOULD BE DONE. This is time limited so if you are interested, get it

It meshes very well with my books on the topic, but the nice part is

Passing along some information about available whitepapers/guides on
performance management, in case people are interested. Registration
is  required to get the material, and it may be that you have to be
in North America. last one, Pillars of Employee Performance
Management, by Oyen is still available at:

I think the content is excellent although it does meander and cover
succession planning, goal alignment, competency management and
compensation management.

I have a few more to suggest, but maybe I'll wait until i have more
time.

  Don't know about others but I'd really appreciate comments on any of
the content. Seems like a good way to stimulate discussion about the
place of HR and also performance issues and ways to address them.

I have my copy and for such a short document it presents some
excellent ideas on how to make performance management effective in a
condensed fast read. It's particularly relevant to HR folks but
obviously also to othes.
