Hi Lowell,
I signed up as an Area Manager for BioPerformance under Monica Leal couple of months ago (she was sponsored by Ken & Jan Smith). She has been an absolutely fantastic support as my upline. I'm glad you've been able to meet her today and vise versa. She speaks highly of you as a person, which means a lot to me.

My profession is in alternative energy, specializing in promoting awareness and collaboration in cutting edge clean energy technologies. People say we have the best news and directory in the world in this area of expertise, as acknowledged by many stalwarts in the field.
I founded the New Energy Congress (.org) whose purpose is to review various clean energy technology claims and weigh them according to a fixed set of criteria, such as "clean, green, affordable, reliable, credible, safe," etc.
Prior to the TX AG action, we (PES Network Inc.) were featuring BioPerformance at the top-center banner position on three of our main sites. For a while there, when a person Google's "BioPerformance", our PESWiki.com website was the first to be listed. It's second, today, after mybpbiz.com. I imagine you've seen it before, and note that we contain point/counter-point for various issues that arise.

So I'm sure you can appreciate that my interest in the outcome of this hearing in Texas is high, as it is for many others who want to see truth served, not politics.
I should also mention that I have some university training in advanced chemistry, and am familiar with some of the equipment and testing procedures being used, and am able to follow and appreciate some of the chemical analysis jargon that is coming up with this Naphthalene/Naphthenate issue.
On behalf of those of us out here who have some chemistry and related scientific background, I hope that in your follow-up reporting you will include for us some good scientific explanations for why several independent laboratories have concluded that the primary component of BP is Naphthalene and that it doesn't contain Naphthenate?
The laboratory heating explanation that Doc Fog gave does not really wash because heat is a central component of an internal combustion engine.
Naphthalene does improve mileage and decrease emissions in some vehicles. It's the first ingredient listed in the EnviroMax product.
Just because the Texas AG and the Florida TV station say that Naphthalene does not give fuel economy improvement, does not give you a green light to ignore that fact. There are those of us out here who know better, and we need some good answers.
I realize that there are proprietary ingredients that need to be protected, but some kind of explanation that satisfies the scientist would be much appreciated.
Also, while I have your ear, I would like to urge you to beef up the scientific end of things at BioPerformance. I realize that hype is part of the gig in an MLM in general, and I've been quite patient to put up with it. However, the more solid the science is, the more people will respect BP. From the beginning, BP has not struck me as being run by scientists, but by marketers. It would be good if that image could change some.
With all the enthusiastic users out there, BP ought to be collecting some good data and then tabulating that data. Don't just report the positive results. Report all the results. e.g. "10% of the cars tested saw no improvement; 10% saw improvement below 5%; ....; 10% reported improvement above 30%". If you made statements like that, your credibility would increase dramatically.
We all are aware that some cars don't respond. Neither of mine did. Give us some numbers to go by so that this isn't just a phantom issue.
In additional to the obvious information like make, model and year of car, have those who are willing keep rigorous records report such things as
- number of cylinders in car
- fuel injected or carburetor?
- ethanol in fuel?
- octane rating of fuel
- precise measurement of BP added +/- 1/4 tablespn
- precise amount of fuel added
- mileage driven
- note on driving conditions (e.g. 0 - 40 degrees; 40 - 80 degrees; 80 - 110 degrees) (dry, humid)
- does tank have siphon guard?
As this data is collected and compiled, then prospective users can look up the make/model of their car and get information about what they might expect by way of improvement in their vehicle.
Of course all of this should be overseen by someone or a group of individuals who are very familiar with fuel economy testing/issues, as well as scientific statistical analysis and survey techniques.
Even if a small fraction of the users kept and reported this kind of data, you would have hundreds of very accurate readings.
This compilation would be an impressive study, and would have far more scientific credibility than "Tom from Kentucky saw 24% increase in mileage."
Another question that I've had is "Where is all the data from the pre-BP days?" The product has been around for more than a dozen years. It would be nice to have access to that data.
Of course I have other suggestions, but I'm sure you've heard them a thousand times:
- get BP telephone support for corporate questions and issues.
- do something to enable more rapid fulfillment of orders. How can you expect us to fulfill in a timely manner if we can't replenish rapidly after unforeseen rushes?
I wish you the best. I'm all for solutions to our energy crisis, as you will see from my sites. I'm also all for standing up as a maverick against the powers that be. But I'm also all for scientific rigor to the best that we are able.
Sincerely,
| Sterling D. Allan
