LEADING AND DEVELOPING THE EVER CHANGING WORK TEAM

The Los Angeles Chapter of PMI is sponsoring a full day leading and
developing project team by Dr. Tom Steiner on Saturday, August 17, 2002.

In this fast-paced, FUN, interactive ONE-DAY seminar, Dr. Tom Steiner,
nationally noted EnterTRAINer, offers practical strategies to bring out the
Team Leader in YOU! Attend and be ENERGIZED!

TIME: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

LOCATION: Barnabey's Hotel, 3501 Sepulveda Blvd., Manhattan Beach, CA 90266
(Near LAX).

for the seminar.

SEMINAR DESCRIPTION:
Organizations are constantly creating and changing work teams. Team leaders
must possess a unique blend of management and leadership skills to maintain
high commitment and motivation to accomplish the team's objective. They
must also be excellent problem solvers and facilitators in order to reduce
inevitable team conflicts. Team leaders, who are proactive communicators,
also enhance the likelihood that their projects will be completed on time
and within budget. Team members will have valued their experience and will
look forward to working with the team leader on subsequent teams.

TOPICS INCLUDE:
o Stages of team development
o Creating and maintaining optimal team norms
o "Bonding" team members to each other
o "Bonding" team members to the leader
o Characteristics of effective teams (an assessment tool)
o 10 Things team leaders can do to reduce conflict
o 10 Things team leaders can do to maintain high morale
o Guidelines for effective team communication
o Developing trust and credibility on your team
o "Selling" Your ideas
o Delivering "Bad News" and living to tell about it
o Using MBWA (Management By Walking Around) as a team tool
o Developing a "Book" on your team, customer and senior management
o Case Study and Team Building Exercises

Dr. Steiner will also ask you to identify any "people issues" that you are
having trouble with. He will answer as many questions as possible
throughout

INSTRUCTOR:
Dr. Tom Steiner has been a professional speaker, enterTRAINer, management
consultant, and university professor for the past 20 years. He has provided

presentations to more than 300 major corporations in the US and Canada. He
holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Psychology and an MBA in Management. His
client list includes CitiGroup, Microsoft, Cisco Systems, Qualcomm, IRS, HBO
and Viacom. In addition, he has performed as a stand-up comic, so his
presentations are always lively and enterTRAINing.
