Here is a list of volunteer opportunities that we have within our
group. They are in priority order of how important they are to the group.
Please consider volunteering because we are all volunteers and the
only thing that keeps this group running is volunteers.
Respond to this email if you are interested.
1. Edit and upload our podcast (we need more people for this. We have
step by step directions) - 1 hour per month
2. Organize and lead a Virtual Party for our PMLL Group in December or
January - see podcast #46 on our "Archives" page - about 2 to 3 hours
of work (one time investment)
3. Support PMJS with jobs, Speakers, Seminars, New members, New
opportunities - one-time or recurring time investment. It's up to you
how much time you can give
4. Coordinate a plan with all sub-group leaders to update our schedule
page and send out announcements - about 1 to 2 hours per month
5. Assemble emails for announcements (we will provide the content, you
just need to assemble it into an email) - about 1 hour per month
6. Present a review of a PMBOK topic for our PMP Exam Study Group
conference call - about 2 hours (one time investment)
7. Send emails to (or phone) PMI Chapters to let them know about our
group - we supply the email and contact information - about 1 hour per
month or 2 to 3 hours one time investment.
8. Create a poll for our group to find out interest/need for a
mentoring group - about 1 to 2 hours (one time investment)
9. Work on guidelines and a plan to implement a mentoring group -
about 2 to 5 hours (one time investment)
10. Volunteer to be a mentor - about 1 to 2 hours per month
11. Work with authors who have spoken on PMLL calls to schedule and
assemble emails of PM Best Practice / PM tips& hints to send out to
our group and promote their books.
12. Work with career coaches who have spoken on PMLL calls to schedule
and assemble emails of PM Career tips& hints to send out to our group
and promote their speaking engagements.
13. Present a topic for our PM Best Practices conference call - about
2 hours (one time investment)
14. Contact PMI to see if participating in calls, volunteering time,
and/or listening to podcasts can count toward PDUs - about 1 to 2
hours (one-time investment)
15. Create a document of links to great PM templates - about 1 to 5
hours depending on how much time you want to spend (one-time investment)
16. Find speakers for our PM Best Practices conference call - 2 to 4
hours one time investment
17. Work to promote our BBS and increase postings there - 1 to 2 hours
per month
