innovation
noun
1: a creation (a new device or process) resulting from study and experimentation [syn: invention]
2: the creation of something in the mind [syn: invention, excogitation, conception, design]
3: the act of starting something for the first time; introducing something new; [syn: initiation, founding, foundation, institution, origination, creation, introduction, instauration]
While most companies talk about being innovative in some way, product innovation today seems to be more art than science. This group is for people interesting in better understanding various aspects of product and process innovation. Some companies, like Apple have very innovative products that have mass appeal, while others such as Dell, have good products, but have innovated in other areas of their business such as their supply chain.
While the above two examples are from the high tech area, this group will discuss innovation from other industries as well. The purpose being to stay current with innovation trends and try to apply innovation principles in our current positions and occupations.
BTW, I also have a blog covering Product Management. Please check it out.
