Union Pacific Gathers Heritage Locomotives for
"Class Photo"

What: Union Pacific has created six specially painted locomotives over the
last two years to commemorate the heritage of railroads that have become
part of the Union Pacific system. These "Heritage" locomotives,
representing the Missouri Pacific, Western Pacific, Katy, Denver & Rio
Grande, Chicago & North Western and Southern Pacific railroads, will be
assembled as a group for the first time at Union Pacific's intermodal
facility in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Who: Salt Lake City-area media outlets are invited to attend this
unusual gathering of locomotives for the first of its kind "class photo."
Media outlets should contact James Barnes at the above telephone number to
pre-register. Non-media photographers who wish to gain access to the
intermodal facility must submit their name and date-of-birth (for security
purposes) via e-mail to BrendaMainwaring@up.com by June 27. If necessary,
Union Pacific may limit the number of passes granted to non-media
photographers.

When: Saturday, June 30, 2007, Noon until 2 p.m. MDT.

Where: 1045 South 5500 West

Salt Lake City, Utah

Directions:

· I-80 to exit 113 - 5600 West

· South two miles

· Cross railroad tracks

· Left on 1100 South - first paved road after crossing railroad
tracks

· First left into facility

Why: Union Pacific created its specially painted heritage locomotive
series in honor of the thousands of men and women who help deliver the
materials that fuel the nations' economy. Through the years, a series of
mergers helped Union Pacific create the largest railroad in North America.
Incorporating elements of these railroads' past, the series focuses on the
immeasurable contributions of the people and the railroads that have made
Union Pacific what it is today.
