RIGHTS TO REJECT AND RECALL  ARE USELESS AND COUNTER PRODUCTIVE....

WE, AT ALL INDIA VOTERS PANCHAYAT, REJECTED THEM 20 YEARS AGO

Dear Dr. Quraishi, Shri Sampat and Shri Brahma:

We are happy to note that the Election Commission rejects Right to Recall

and Right to Reject [section 49 (O)] of the Representation of People's Act.

We, at All India Voters Panchayat (of which I am the founder and I was then

the National Secretary) rejected both these fads about 20 years ago, as being 

futile, useless, costly, meaningless exercise and undemocratic.

If you really wish to bring changes in the Elections, do NOT listen to ignorant

parrots like Anna Hazare and his team, but instead invite the undersigned

to make a full power-point presentation before the ECI and All Party Conference

on Election Reforms. 

Inter alia I would like to cover

(a) Two Party vis-à-vis Partyless Democracy.

(b) How to remove Grave Irregularities in the Presidential and

Vice Presidential Elections.

(c) How Whip is against Democracy.

(d) How to create a level playing field.

(e) Why State funding of elections is undesirable and undemocratic.

(f) How Form VII-A-Rule 10(1) can be revised as suggested by me,

way back in 1995. Right to Know one's candidates is first requirement

of democratic elections.  That itself is violated. 

(g) How arbitrary removal names of people from Voters List leads

to illegal and unconstitutional disenfrenchisement, etc. as voters cannot

vote inspite of having the Voters I-Card. 

(h) Why Poll Predictions and Exit Poll Surveys should be banned.

(i) Why Reporting during elections on Per Column Centimetre basis,

primary source of corruption, should be clamped down for several reasons.
