It would be interesting to know the results of some benchmark comparisons
between the various testing programs - C-trader, Tradestation, Multicharts,
Amibroker, Wealthlab, Ninja, etc. Maybe there's discussion topic on
Elitetrader.com already.
Rather than embarking on a the learning curve for a new system development
environment, just upgrade your hardware.
The buy a faster machine - quad core, 4 Ghz, RAID, 16Gb tri-channnel RAM , etc.
But if the software does not take advantage of the hardware, and only runs
single-threaded processes, there's little to be gained.
The main benefit of c-trader is that the source is open. If the feature is not
there, you can always code it. And since it's pure C/C++, the main speed
limitation is not the environment, but the programming skill of the developer.

am an experienced TradeStation user and fully agree with all that you say below.
My questions to the forum were to verify the expected performance improvement
when switching to C-Trader Pro.
