Yes, this is a red letter day for us! She is a GE 1948 model with quite a few more amenities than our 1946 cars, and we are really pleased to add her to our fleet. I want to have a total of 6 PCC cars in the fleet for now, especially since we are rapidly expanding the areas that they will return to, after a hiatus since 23 April 1949. "Return with us now, to those thrilling days of yesteryear!" All of our PCC cars will enter revenue service on the streets of San Diego. As most all of you know, The San Diego Vintage Trolley, Inc. is a California non profit, 501 (c) (3) Corporation. We are a wholly owned subsidiary of the Metropolitan Transit System. (MTS) As such we must raise all of our funds. This car was donated to us by the Museum of Transportation at St. Louis MO. I raised the 11k for transportation to San Diego. All that said, anyone interested in donating money to help defray our restoration and acquisition costs are most welcome. Those interested in donating to our very worth cause, should contact me, Dave Slater, Volunteer Restoration Project Manager, San Diego Vintage Trolley, Inc.. (Davesugi@cox.net OR (619) 222-5442 ) We currently have a 400k donation for the rebuild of our first car, #529, and much more is needed. Of course, all donations are tax deductible.

Cheers!

Dave Slater, Project Manager

The ex SEPTA 2186 arrived the morning of July 7, 2009 in San Diego at the San Diego Trolley. It was transported from St. Louis. It will join three other PCCs, their heritage is ex-Muni, nee St. Louis. It will be renumbered to 532 at a future date. Picture by Jeff T.
