OVERVIEW
--------

Purpose
-------
The Steel-Detail list functions as an online global resource for the fabricated
steel construction industry. It exists to facilitate communication amongst
detailers, fabricators, engineers, erectors, project managers, students and
others in the fabricated steel community around the world. This list is for
general discussions related to the business of producing shop drawings within
our industry. Please note that there are a few topic restrictions which are
outlined in the Rules & Guidelines section below.

Subscribers
-----------
The Steel-Detail list is a private discussion list brought to you by
Steel-Link.com. Anyone can request a free subscription to the list, but must
first be approved by the list owner and/or moderators. All messages by new
subscribers will automatically be moderated for a period of time to determine
compliance with list guidelines.

Acceptance
----------
By accepting your subscription to the Steel-Detail list you are acknowledging
your acceptance of the Steel-Detail list Rules & Guidelines and agree to abide
by them. Failure to comply with the Rules & Guidelines may result in temporary
or permanent revocation of your list subscription without notice. Please
unsubscribe if you do not agree with these guidelines.

Instructions

To subscribe to the Steel-Detail List select one of the methods below:

Method One
• Send an email to steel-detail-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
• The email account you use to send the subscribe request will be the email
address recognized by the list to accept posts.

Method 2
• Go to: http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/steel-detail/
• Click on the blue "Join This Group!" button on the right side of the page
• Enter your Yahoo! ID and password. (If you do not have a Yahoo! account then
you will need to create one. If you do not wish to create a Yahoo! account then
you can subscribe by using Method One as shown above.)
• After your Sign-In or create a new Yahoo! account then follow the online
instructions to join the group.

Approval
--------
Once a request to subscribe has been submitted it must be approved by the list
owner and/or moderators before the subscription can be processed and activated.
This usually takes place fairly quickly, but may take a couple of days. All
messages by new subscribers will automatically be moderated for a period of time
to determine general compliance with list Rules & Guidelines.

To unsubscribe from the Steel-Detail List select one of the methods below:

Method One
• Send an email to steel-detail-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.com from the same email
address you used for subscribing.

Method 2
• Go to: http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/steel-detail/
• Login with your Yahoo! ID and password.
• Click on the "Edit Membership" link next to your Yahoo! ID located above the
list name.
• Click on the "Leave Group" button at the bottom right of the page.

RULES & GUIDELINES

Clearly State Your Subject
--------------------------
When posting messages, use the SUBJECT area to clearly indicate what the post is
about. Making sure the subject makes sense will help in receiving appropriate
responses. When initiating a new discussion, the subject also sets up the thread
so that anyone replying to your message will get the same subject.

Sign All Posts
--------------
Identify yourself in all posts to the list. It is important that everyone know
from whom the message originated. Include your full name, company and basic
contact information.

Trim Responses
--------------
When replying to posts trim away any unnecessary content that is included
automatically below your message. This will better focus your reply to the list
and it will aid those receiving the daily digest version of the list from having
to hunt for the relevant information.

Personal Replies
----------------
Direct all replies of a personal nature to the sender of the message instead of
the entire list.

No Personal Attacks
-------------------
Refrain from attacking another subscriber personally on the list. All posts of a
personal nature should be sent directly to the individual in question and not
the entire list.

No Profane Language
-------------------
The Steel-Detail List is a professional business resource and needs to be
treated as such. Refrain from the use of profane language in all posts.

Full Disclosure
---------------
When making a creative or service suggestion, identify yourself in relation to
the company or person you’re recommending; especially if you have a financial
interest in the person or service you are recommending.

No Off-Topic Posts
------------------
Posts considered “off-topic” for this list are those not directly related to
making shop drawings for the fabricated steel construction industry. These
include but are not limited to the following:
• Posts of a personal religious nature.
• Posts of a partisan political nature.
• Any fund-raising requests.

Unsolicited Advertising
-----------------------
Advertising of products or services not solicited by subscriber posts are not
permitted. Examples of unsolicited advertisements would a detailing company
offering their detailing services for hire or an employment ad. However, the
promotion of available products or services as a resource or announcements of
conferences, meetings or special product demonstrations are valuable to the list
subscribers - and are encouraged. (If you are not sure if your post may violate
this rule then contact us at steel-detail-owner@yahoogroups.com with the
information for a pre-determination of posting acceptance.)

Advertising, employment and sponsorship opportunities are available. Please
