Re: [tcynpn] Interested in joining the YNPN Board?

Hi Kelly

One place to look for people wanting to gain leadership experience is the Jaycees. Leadership development is what the Jaycees is all about. You could contact the local chapters and see if they have anyone connected to a nonprofit in the their clubs.

Best, Michael

Dear Friends,

Do you know a young nonprofit professional looking to gain nonprofit leadership experience? Want to contribute to strengthening the Twin Cities nonprofit sector? Interested in being a part of a national movement of young nonprofit professionals?

YNPN Twin Cities is a local chapter of the national Young Nonprofit Professionals Network. Our mission is to support, educate and connect young leaders in the nonprofit sector by leveraging resources, providing access to professional development, and building a peer network, all in service of our vision - that we can transform the nonprofit sector into a dynamic intergenerational community that welcomes, connects, and empowers all those committed to a just society.

Our board of directors is a working, all-volunteer board. We are not an incorporated organization at this time, but are considering pursuing incorporation. We are currently seeking board members committed to serving 2 year terms beginning in January 2010, and are particularly seeking skills in:

--> Governance/Organizational Development
--> Program Development, Management and Evaluation
--> Facilitation
--> Project Management
--> Marketing/Communications
--> Event planning
--> Finance/Accounting

Joining our board helps develop your leadership skills and build your connections regionally and nationally. As a part of the board, you will be expected to attend monthly board and committee meetings, participate in online decision making and discussion, and attend monthly happy hours and educational programming events. You can expect to contribute between 10 and 15 hours a month to your duties as a board member.

To apply, please complete the following survey, and send your resume to info@ynpntwincities.org no later than Thursday, December 10, 2009:

We look forward to hearing from you! Please share this email with anyone you know who may be interested.

Best regards,

The YNPN Twin Cities Board
