Rob, I don't know of a way way to determine through the debugger what caused the reset... perhaps someone out there who deeply groks x86 processors can help us

Chon, i forgot about the locate and .loc file, the absolute addresses as called out in the .cfg/.loc files are indeed what is being returned from the malloc

I am using the Tern 586-D board. i need to support dynamic memory allocation in my project so i have added heapsize.c to my build to define a 16KB heap.
