I was very disturbed to find out that on Tuesday October 21, 2008 my
Local 669 has called for another vote to pass this amendment that our
members decided against just a few years back. It pretty much tells me
that our decision is not respected until my Union gets exactly what
they want. Why must we revote on an issue that we firmly voted down?
Whether my Union agrees with our state's original vote or not it is
supposed to be our right as members and it should not be questioned.

This amendent will pass this time around mainly because of the Tuesday
time frame and many of the men are working away from home. It is a
shame that our once strong voice within the Local is being taken away
because we disagree with something that we feel strongly against. So
much for democracy......

If my memory is correct, one of the Districts in Texas also voted
against this proposition so I wonder if they are being asked to revote
as well.
