BlueTOADâ„¢ On The Road

BlueTOAD by TrafficCast is the industry's leading Bluetoothâ„¢ traffic monitoring system.  It accurately measures travel times, road speeds and route choice behaviors through anonymous detection of Bluetooth signals from mobile devices inside vehicles, and the vehicles themselves.  An advanced software interface is included that automatically calculates the traffic data, in real-time or over time, displayed in color-coded speed maps as well as a dashboard format.  BlueTOAD can work independent of local power and data connectivity, or installs directly in traffic signal cabinets.  And the new Mini-BlueTOAD is perfect to collect data for studies, performance measures and before/after analysis.

And BlueTOAD is on the road.  Distributors are showcasing the technologies at regional trade shows across the country, including OTEC in Columbus October 25-26, the Wisconsin ITS-Forum in Milwaukee November 1st, GRITS - Gulf Region ITS in Montgomery November 2-4 and ITS-Texas in San Marcos November 9-11.  And, of course, the ITS World Congress - Booth #1771 – in Orlando October 16–20.  For more information on these and other shows where BlueTOAD will be hopping, visit http://trafficcast.com/events/

BlueTOADâ„¢ On The Road

BlueTOAD by TrafficCast is the industry's leading Bluetoothâ„¢ traffic monitoring system.  It accurately measures travel times, road speeds and route choice behaviors through anonymous detection of Bluetoothâ„¢ signals.  Advanced software automatically calculates traffic data, in real-time or over time, displaying content in both color-coded speed maps and a dashboard format on a secure web interface.  BlueTOAD can work independent of local power and data connectivity, install directly in traffic signal cabinets or even capture data for post-analysis.  Speed studies, performance measures, before/after comparisons, Origin/Destination analysis all benefit from the robust data BlueTOAD delivers.

And BlueTOAD is on the road.  Distributors are showcasing the technologies at regional trade shows across the country, including OTEC in Columbus October 25-26, the Wisconsin ITS-Forum in Milwaukee November 1, GRITS - Gulf Region ITS in Montgomery November 2-4 and ITS-Texas in San Marcos November 9-11.  And, of course, the ITS World Congress - Booth #1771 – in Orlando October 16–20.  For more information on these and other shows where BlueTOAD will be hopping, visit http://trafficcast.com/events/

Traffax BluFAX  deployed for real time monitoring of major commuter corridors in the Washington, DC Region

Traffax Realtime traffic monitoring technology has been installed in Maryland to provide travel times along the heavily traveled I-270 and its parallel arterial route 355. BluFAX augments existing monitoring technologies to bring integrated corridor monitoring and management to a new level in the nation’s most congested region.

This is part one of a two-part project that will cover over 100 miles of freeway and arterial roadways that form major commuter corridors in Maryland and Northern Virginia.  BluFAX unsurpassed ability to provide accurate data on freeways and arterial roadways provides a complete real-time picture of traffic within complex corridors, and the means to assess the impact of traffic diversion onto arterials following freeway incidents.

Contact Traffax Inc. for more details at 240-447-8612 or visit www.traffaxinc.com

November TCN Fund-Raising Drive

Twice a year, I hold a month-long fund-raising effort to support the TCN.  I want to first say that no one should feel pressure to donate to the TCN. For those who do choose to donate, I very much appreciate the support! Near the bottom of the newsletter you'll find information on how you can contribute. In addition to monetary gifts, there are other ways you can support the TCN. These include buying ad space in the TCN, utilizing my transportation voiceover services or simply letting others in the field know about the TCN so they too can subscribe. Throughout November I'll provide more details on how you can support the TCN. Thank you!

TCN Fundraiser

As I noted in Tuesday's edition, November is one of the two months annually when I ask you to consider supporting the TCN.  While monetary contributions are always appreciated (please see below for how to donate), there are other ways you can support the TCN.  One of these is by using my transportation voiceover services.  I'm the voice for a number of transportation-related projects such as the New York City subway's "next train" announcements and the AirTrain at Kennedy and Newark airports.  In the past month I voiced two new projects.  One is a video for Sensys Networks that was shown at the ITS World Congress, and the other is being the voice for the customer information line for PATH, the mass transit line serving New York City and New Jersey.  You can listen to my PATH recordings by dialing 1-800-234-PATH.

If you'd like more information about how you can use my voice and transportation expertise to make your project sound great, please contact me at bernie@....  You can also visit my website at www.bwcommunications.net to hear more samples.  Thank you!

TCN Fundraiser

For this year's fundraiser I have something a little different.  For a long time I've looked for note cards with a transportation theme.  I never found one I liked and I recently worked with a graphic designer and printer to create a note card that those of you in the field might find of interest.  If you go to http://goo.gl/T2ra4 you can get a look at the design.  For me, since I'm involved in all modes of transport, I included graphics with a variety of modes.  Your interests may be narrower.  If you would like to order similar note cards please let me know.  The graphics and colors can be adjusted based on your preferences.  Prices will vary based on quantities and shipping costs.  For more information please contact me at bernie@....

November TCN Fund-Raising Drive

Twice a year, I hold a month-long fund-raising effort to support the TCN. Thank you!
