Hi all,
Everyday we are surrounded by stories and events of how the USA is either cutting rates, or only slowing down, as opposed to a recession (or deflation), and how things will look better towards the end of 2008.
Lots of politicians open their mouths to promise this or that help or intervention, and to tell us how all bail-outs are good for the economy.
If you are interested in what all these events and talk really mean, after the lies and propaganda has been removed, here are two great information portals on this.
GATA: www.gata.org:
The comment everyday on what is happening in the global economy and what this means for all of us in the long-term. By reading their comments and articles, one gets a very good idea of where the global economy is heading, especially how it affects the USA and the US dollar, which is the global reserve currency until now. I recommend subscribing to their article publications, as you will learn how to ask better questions when your local media and colleagues talk about bank and political activities.
Mish's Global Economic Trend Analysis: http://globaleconomicanalysis.blogspot.com/
This is a very informative commentary on economic events and is quite similar to the GATA group, but sometimes covers different aspects in the market. You can subscribe to their articles via RSS too.
Knowledge is power; stay informed!

Jacques
