This group is for discussion of the east end of the Union Pacific Railroad (UP/UPRR) system with general area of Chicago, Butler (Butler to Sheboygan) Altoona/Eau Claire and Minneapolis, Spine Line, and Clinton IA , St Louis MO (ex-MoPac/CNW routes)forming the boundaries and local regions of the Union Pacific Railroad and generally all areas of the Union Pacific east of the Mississippi River(St Louis MO former MoPac/CNW routes/areas) and eastern Iowa(those lines that were once MoPac/CNW lines - but discussion should be on all lines relating primarily to present Union Pacific ownership and operations.)with some MoPac/CNW discussion, but less than 50%. Discussion can be totally encompassing in nature regarding all things UP, including motive power and train operations, historical and other significance. The time frame should be April 1995 (-approx.-time of the UP acquisition of CNW) forward to the present. The newly formed WN(Wisconsin Northern) may be discussed here as it is a successor to former UP lines. This groups main focus is primarily 1995 to present on the UP. This does not mean that other areas of UP cannot be discussed, however this group should not compete overall with the UP group covering the entire UP system on Yahoo! groups.

Locomotive sightings, train operations and all other UP subjects including investment may also be discussed here and all members may post files, photos and databases (including train operations databases). DO NOT REPORT MILITARY MOVEMENTS or anything that may compromise United States or Union Pacific Security. No message crosspostings from other groups.
