Hey Chris, Thanks for the info. Nope, I haven't got it fixed yet. I've got a few freinds with versatiles- 985, 875, 900, 835, 976 aqnd none of them have had this problem. Another friend with 9280 (newholland) has had this problem and they ground down the side of the encine so the pump would fit more square and it fixed there's. I've talked to a Cummings dealer. They think too much engine oil psi (55) is too high and sucking it through the hyd pump seals. I'm going to try and adjust the pressure tomorrow. A "original" versatile dealer has told me about 1 in 20 tractors does this and the pumps get worn after a while and the sloop inside is causeing "side" pressure and seaping through the seals even though they can look good. My John Deere dealer thinks the hyd pressure may be too high, like the pressure relief valve is acting up or set too high and maybe the culbrit. They're coming out tomorrow to check the pressure. This tractor has VERY good hydrualics compared
to other versatiles I've been around so this may be it. I've been "babying" it to get through planting but will def have it fixed before fall tillage time- I hope! Once again thanks for your interest and help,
Jason

Problem is usually the hydralic pumps leaking oil into the crankcase. The pumps can work okay but still leak hyd oil into the engine crankcase. We had to put both new ones on our 1150 a couple years ago because of the same problem and both pumps functioned okay but leaked oil. Our 895's have done the same thing as well. You might try Richland County Equipment in Wahpeton, ND. They are no longer a Buhler dealer but have many years of Versatile experience. I believe the number is 1-800-642-9266. Hope you fix the problem.Chris
