I know of. I figured out the 985 meant 895 I wasn't to confused.

Just for the record, on Designation 6 tractors and later which have
a non return valve on the pressure outlet of the auxilliary pump
the "bullet" valve was made of composite material and in time will
wear and shatter, offering no protection to the pump. If the spool
lever is held open in raise position, and you run over a bump or
through a gulley you will get a pressure spike shoot down the hose,
through the open spool block, and straight into the pump. This can do
one of two things, either blow out or wreck the input shaft seal, or
distort the aluminium pump case, which can also cause leakage. Anyone
with one of these tractors with a few thousand hours on , should , I
suggest take that check valve off and inspect it for damage, at $30
its far cheaper than a pump ! Not sure if the 5 series had this
valve , but all later ones did. Hope this helps.
