Welcome to Workathomeideas
Our guest is Jill Bell
who will tell you about her wonderful
work at home business.

Jill's Story:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have to start off by saying I'm not a writer. So please forgive
any grammatical errors or anything that sounds totally
unprofessional. Like you, I am a mom. I work part-time outside the
home, I do book work for our family jewelry business.
I take additional unpaid time off during the summer to be home with
my 12-yr. old daughter. I've learned this age is so tender, I need
to spend as much time with her as I can. I wish I could get back the
years. I worked outside the home while all three of my children were
growing up. I've learned that they need you so much during those
formative years. And I've also learned that they need you even more
as they enter adolescent years and then onto their teen years.
I have three girls, ages 27, 19, and 12. Yes, I know. Crazy. Big
spread between each. And they never really bonded. I think I could
have helped if I would have been home more. My quest for life is to
help every mom out there find a way to stay home with her children.
I got my first taste of MLM (yuck, don't you hate that word) 17 years
ago when I joined Amway. Wait…..stay with me now. I was so green it
wasn't funny. I knew nothing about MLM. But to make a long story
short, I fell in love with it.
I have wasted a LOT of money joining many of those fly by night
companies. But if you read in Proverbs, you will see that there is
no get rich quick business. If any company says that, RUN!
I've learned the good solid businesses you think just couldn't work
for you (stay with me here, I'm not referring to Amway – no offense
though – many people are making excellent money in that company) are
actually the ones that will work. IF, you have a method.
My marketing experience and methods consist of autoresponders, paid
leads, opt-in-leads, ezine advertising, etc. If you sling enough
mud, some will stick. But, let me tell you what I found out. The
business I always admired but thought I could never do.
The opportunity I want to share with you now is Mary Kay. I've used
Mary Kay for years and LOVE IT. They have fabulous new anti-aging
products as well as products that literally make you look years
longer.
It really never occurred to me to become a consultant. Many people
do not know how easy it is to become a beauty consultant with Mary
Kay. But what I am most impressed about is the morals Mary Kay
teaches. God, Family, then business – in that order – is the only
way to succeed. I am putting that philosophy into motion. I always
thought that WAS my philosophy, but in doing some soul searching, it
wasn't.
To join Mary Kay and become a beauty consultant is only $100. YUP!
No typo there!
That $100 gets you approximately $300 worth of products and samples.
Now here is what actually convinced me to join. (Well, my sister-in-
law did, but this was a big part.) Mary Kay actually mails beautiful
color brochures to all your mailing list for only .55 each.
Encouragement is given to purchase by offering a valuable gift with a
purchase of $30 or more. Your business can be on autopilot if you
wish. You do not need to do home shows, give facials, etc. if you
choose not to. I'm not.
Mary Kay will send these brochures quarterly to everyone on your
list. There are even additional promotional mailings they do FOR
YOU.
All you need to do in order to maintain your 50% profit is purchase
$200 worth of products every quarter. That's not difficult. You'll
receive orders, you'll want to purchase for gifts and yourself…..the
list goes on.
No need to purchase inventory unless you choose to. When I joined I
had no intention of doing so. But I changed my mind. I'll tell you
why, but again, this is totally YOUR business and up to you.
Here is how I'm marketing my Mary Kay Business. Outside of promoting
in sources like this, I had a debut. This is totally FUN! I wrote
an invitation and invited every woman I knew. I offered a free gift
for everyone who brought a guest. I served punch and cookies and
displayed my product line. I even had some samples setting out so
they could try them. I made little gift bags for drawings. Plus
everyone left with a sample or two to take home. I offered 20% off
anything purchased that evening. My profit that night was over $200 –
PROFIT! That means $400 retail.
Now all I do is have Mary Kay continually mail these people and
others on my list.
A Mary Kay Consultant is one of the most distinguished titles a woman
can have. Mary Kay has been the #1 selling make-up for nine years
straight.
OH, about inventory. If you choose to purchase inventory, you get a
LOT of free stuff!
Ordering $600 wholesale ($1200 retail), gets you $100 worth of FREE
products PLUS an additional $50 worth of bonuses. If you order $1200
wholesale ($2400 retail), you get $200 worth of free product PLUS
approximately $100 worth of free bonuses. The more you purchase, the
more FREE stuff you get.
And no worry about joining under someone miles away. With the
internet, that is happening more and more often. Mary Kay has taken
care of that. You will be assigned a director in your area.
Please take a few minutes and look at the company site, then my
personal site.
I promise if you decide to join me, I will do everything in my power
to make you successful.
