Well, good news I guess. Predicted ages ago by many and although, I
think this is the easy way - why not - Semmel wouldn't say no to easy
cash and why should he?
I'm hoping for some more Yahoo! action - but the combined powers of
Yahoo! - Inktomi & overture... looks enormously impressive!
And a detail I think many won't pay much attention too, Overture
bought ALLTHEWEB - a very good Googlelike search engine some
predicted could overthrow the search king & Altavista. Though
Altavista may not be the biggest search power on the net, still quite
popular in Europe. This might mean Yahoo! will take over Altavista in
the countries Yahoo! hasn't launched its properties yet and rebrand
them into the Yahoo! international network and finally become a
player in the smaller European markets too. MSN is profiting too much
of their first mover advantage right now!
